Vacuum membrane pressing is the cornerstone of modern architectural door and cabinetry fabrication. By converting flat decorative PVC film into a continuous, seamless envelope over contoured MDF substrates, fabricators eliminate edge-banding seams and create waterproof, impact-resistant surfaces.

Critical Process Parameters

Preventing Common Defects

  1. Orange Peel Texture: Occurs when pre-heating is insufficient or vacuum is pulled too rapidly. Ensure gradual multi-stage vacuum ramping.
  2. Edge Springback: Always ensure 0.18mm+ foil is paired with high-performance primer backing to bond firmly around sharp 90-degree outer radii.
  3. Glue Starvation: Maintain consistent adhesive spread rates (80–100 g/m²) across complex 3D profiles.
